SMS-Act Managed VerificationGet one-time temporary phone numbers to receive one-time passcodes (OTPs) for account verification.

For privacy-conscious sign-ups, people abroad without a local SIM, and QA testing. Not for illegal activity; availability depends on carriers.

SMS-Act - Managed SMS Verification Platform

What SMS-Act is: an independently operated platform for receiving SMS verification codes on one-time temporary virtual phone numbers, sourced from real carrier SIM routes rather than VoIP numbers. One flat price of 8 credits per SMS across every country and service, credits returned to your account automatically when a verification fails, coverage of 160+ countries and 600+ apps (Google, WhatsApp, OpenAI/Codex, Claude and more), a live order page where the code appears as soon as it arrives, paid through Stripe. Numbers are one-time and valid for about 15 minutes — there is no number rental, no mainland China numbers, and no Telegram verification, and SMS-Act cannot bypass identity checks such as document upload, selfie liveness, or national real-name verification.

Managed Verification vs Public SMS

Free public SMS sites and a managed service both give you a number to receive a code on, but they work very differently:

Who SMS-Act Is For — and Who It Isn't

A good fit:

  • Keeping your personal number private on a sign-up you don't fully trust — marketplaces, newsletters, trial accounts, forums.
  • Living or travelling abroad and needing a code from a country where you have no SIM, for example a US or UK number for an app that only accepts local numbers. SMS-Act's US numbers are physical carrier SIM lines, not VoIP.
  • QA and product teams testing an SMS/OTP flow end to end on real carrier numbers.

Not a good fit:

  • Accounts you need to keep for years, or that hold money. A one-time number is valid for about 15 minutes, so it can't receive later login checks or account-recovery codes. Use a SIM registered to you for those.
  • Getting around a service's country availability, identity (KYC / real-name) checks, or per-person account limits. SMS-Act cannot pass document, selfie, or national real-name verification, and doing this usually breaks the service's own terms.

What Is a Temp Phone Number?

A temp phone number is a temporary virtual number you receive SMS verification codes on — without using your personal number. It is commonly used for account sign-ups, one-time verification, privacy protection, and QA testing.
