What Kolesa.kz is (and who runs it)
Kolesa.kz is Kazakhstan's main car classifieds site, covering used and new cars, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, parts and services. It belongs to Kolesa Group, an Almaty company that also runs Krisha.kz (real estate) and Market.kz (general classifieds). In 2023 Kaspi.kz, the Kazakh fintech and e-commerce group, bought a 40% stake in Kolesa Group with majority voting control. That's why Kaspi payment options show up across the Kolesa ecosystem.
The site is in Russian and Kazakh, and almost all listings and buyer messages are written in Russian. The listings only cover Kazakhstan: Almaty, Astana, Shymkent, Karaganda, Aktobe and the rest of the country's regions. You can use Kolesa from abroad, but the sellers, the cars and the paperwork are all in Kazakhstan.
How the Kolesa.kz phone login works
- Tap «Войти» (Sign in) on the site or in the iOS/Android app.
- Enter a mobile number with the country code.
- Kolesa sends a 4-digit SMS code (per Kolesa's own help pages: «Вам придет 4-х значный код в виде SMS-сообщения»).
- Enter the code. If the number is new to Kolesa, a new account is created on the spot. If not, you're signed back into the existing one.
Because the phone number is effectively your username, three things follow:
- The next login code goes to the same number. Log out, switch phones or clear the app's data and Kolesa will text that number again.
- Your ads show that number. Buyers on Kolesa call or message the phone on the listing. That contact is the whole point of a classifieds site.
- Free-listing limits are tied to it. Kolesa's FAQ says free placements are counted «по одному номеру телефона или по одному личному кабинету» (per phone number or per account) for one user. The limits differ by category and reset every Monday. Beyond them you pay for placement or promotion packages such as «Горячие», «ТОП» or «VIP».

The limit here isn't the SMS check. Kolesa's verification is a plain code-to-phone step. The problem is that a disposable number can't do the job a seller's contact number does. SMS-Act gives you a one-time temporary number: the order stays open for 15 minutes to receive the code, and after that the number isn't yours.
Which country number to pick
- Kazakhstan (+7 7xx) is the natural choice. Kolesa is a Kazakhstan-only marketplace, and a local number looks normal to its systems and to other users. SMS-Act numbers are real mobile SIM numbers, not VoIP lines. Kazakhstan stock varies, so go by the country list at the moment you order.
- Russian (+7 9xx) numbers aren't recommended for Kolesa. They share the +7 prefix, but Kolesa serves the Kazakh market, and SMS-Act keeps Russian numbers for Russia-based services such as VK or OZON.
- Other countries may receive the code, but you'll be a foreign-number user on a local marketplace. Fine for browsing. Expect friction if you contact sellers who prefer to call back.
Whether a code arrives depends on the upstream carrier route, Kolesa's own checks at that moment, and whether the number was entered correctly. If nothing arrives, cancel and try another number. When no code is received, the 8 credits are returned to your account automatically, so a failed attempt only costs you time.
Step by step: first Kolesa.kz login with SMS-Act

- Search for Kolesa in the service list and choose Kazakhstan if it is listed.
- Get the number. The order stays open for 15 minutes.

Buying a car on Kolesa safely
Most Kolesa accounts belong to buyers, and used-car classifieds everywhere attract the same kinds of fraud:
- Check the car's history before paying. Run the VIN through a vehicle-history report (Kolesa and several local services offer them) and confirm registration status and restrictions through official channels before any money moves.
- Never pay a "deposit to hold the car" to someone you haven't met, especially if they're "abroad" or "in another city".
- Be wary of prices well below the market for the same model and year. It's the most common bait.
- Do the deal in person. Meet at a registration centre (ЦОН / спецЦОН) where the transfer is formalised, not in a car park.
- Keep the first conversations on Kolesa's messaging until you've seen the car.
